Kindergarteners were so excited to learn about the "Nikigator", a playground sculpture designed and created by Niki de Saint Phalle. After looking at a photo, we discussed the ways in which children play on it. Students thought about ways to make their own play structure as they were curling, fringing, folding, bending and looping strips of neon paper. They assembled and glued each piece together and while doing this, they couldn't help but talk about ways they might play on it. "I can crawl through this tunnel"; "These folds can be my steps"; "I can swing from this loop"; "I can slide down here and bouncing on this curl could be fun!"
